I hope y’all are staying home and staying safe. I know being stuck at home is hard on everyone, and that’s okay! It’s a traumatic time for us all. So I saw this tag on The Bookish Chick’s blog, and figured I would do it!

Lets get into it!
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I am currently listening to the audiobook of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and reading the e-ARC for Of Salt and Shore by Annet Schaap! Of Salt and Shore is a middle grade book about mermaids and adventure, perfect way to escape all of the craziness of today, unfortunately, it doesn’t come out until September 2020.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE “CAN’T LEAVE THE HOUSE” ACTIVITY?
I’m going to go outside of the obvious answer (reading), and go with crafting. Lately, I have been knitting, sewing, and art journalling. I have been art journaling since I was 13, and I found that it isn’t super popular. The way that I art journal, I mix scrapbooking and journaling to create a cool and unique memento. Crafting is relaxing while being productive which is really all you van really ask fot during quarentine.
A BOOK YOU’VE BEEN MEANING TO READ FOR FOREVER
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. I have owned this book for, I don’t know, 3-4 years? Never touched it. I’m super interested in it and randomly get the urge to read it, but I just haven’t picked it up. Spring semester is finally over, so now I have no excuses to not pick it up.
AN INTIMIDATING BOOK ON YOUR TBR
The Diviners by Libba Bray. This book scares the HELL out of me. I feel like I’m going to love it, but if I don’t, I know it’s going to hurt my heart so much. I love the 20’s and the magical aspects seem so interesting. I’m just really intimidated to start it since I want to love it so much, ya know?
TOP 3 PRIORITY BOOKS ON YOUR TBR
- Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
- Renegades by Marissa Meyer
- Wilder Girls by Rory Power
RECOMMEND A SHORT BOOK
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang. This graphic novel is so quick and easy to read while having a wonderful storyline about self acceptance. 12/10
RECOMMEND A LONG BOOK
Long books majorly intimidate me, so I don’t read many of them. It by Stephen King is my go-to long book recommendation, but it isn’t for everyone. I loved it and would read it over and over, but theres a lot of issues with it. CW: rape, domestic abuse, homophobia, racism, suicide, bullying, murder, and on and on. So be warned.
SOMETHING YOU’D LOVE TO DO WHILE STUCK AT HOME
I would really love to workout while at home, and hopefully get into a good rhythm to continue on after restrictions are lifted. This isn’t always possible as there isn’t a lot of space to do so in my house. I do know that I am making excuses, but ya know, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t.
WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON READING NEXT?
How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake. I am actually a part of a groupchat on Twitter dedicated to reading more sapphic books, and How to Make a Wish is our first group pick!
I tag anyone who reads this!
